Mansfield facilitates a bereavement support group, Standing in Our New Lives: For Women Who Have Lost Partners or Spouses, and writes for the Hospicare newsletter and website. For many years she was also a women's healthcare counselor, nutritionist and exercise trainer. Since 2008, she has maintained a very popular care giver blog - Elaine Mansfield - which was recently honored by caring.com as one of the top 18 great care giver stories on the web.
Kheli R. Willetts

Professor and Director of Community Folk Art Center, Syracuse University
In addition to being Executive Director of Community Folk Art Center, Willetts is also an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of African American studies, at Syracuse University. Her area of study and interest is African American art (especially in the 1960's and 70's), artistic colonialism, and women artists. Willetts is also a columnist for the Post-Standard newspaper of Syracuse.
Community Folk Art Center is a unit of the African American Studies Department at Syracuse University. CFAC is a beacon of artistry, creativity, and cultural expression engaging the Syracuse community, the region, and the world.
Ileen Kaplan

Artist, Musician, and Piano Technician
Kaplan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madision where she studied English and Art History. In addition to painting she is also a life-long musician and a piano technician. Her figurative paintings are vibrant contemplations on the world around her. She has shown extensively around the NY Finger Lakes region and is represented by the West End Gallery in Corning and is a member of The State of The Art Gallery in Ithaca.
Fred A. Wilcox

Author/educator and Veterans' Advoacte
Fred A. Wilcox is an associate professor in the writing department at Ithaca College. He is the author of several books on issues including the Vietnam War, nuclear power and the Plowshares Movement. His books include, Scorched Earth: Legacies of Chemical Warfare in Vietnam and Waiting for an Army to Die: The Tragedy of Agent Orange. His most recent book is a novel called Secrets, and is his debut into fiction writing. We'll be discussing this tragic/comic, and beautifully written book in depth. Secrets was released in fall 2012.
